For parishes

The basket still comes first. Stewardvine reaches the parishioner who left the checkbook at home.

Fewer people carry cash or a checkbook to Mass. Younger and visiting parishioners often have only a phone. Stewardvine is a quiet, attended way to close the weekend offertory gap — without changing the ritual your parish already knows.

The weekend offertory gap

What a basket-only collection quietly misses.

An aging donor base

Faithful givers who write checks are your foundation — but the households behind them are getting older, and fewer are being replaced by cash-and-check givers.

Fewer people carry cash

A younger or visiting parishioner may want to give and simply have nothing in their pocket to put in the basket. The intent is there; the means is not.

The second collection stalls

Special appeals and second collections depend on people being ready to give in the moment. When the basket passes and wallets are empty, the moment is lost.

Business continuity

Your giving continues even if Stewardvine goes away.

This is the reassurance a prudent finance council should insist on from any young vendor — and Stewardvine is built to pass it.

  • The Square account is yours. Donations settle into the parish's own Square account. That relationship is between your parish and Square — not something Stewardvine can switch off.
  • The funds are yours. Stewardvine never accepts, holds, or transmits donor funds, so there is nothing of yours for Stewardvine to hold up or lose.
  • Your data is yours. One-click export means you can take your donor records with you at any time.

See how the money flows

In plain terms

If Stewardvine shut its doors tomorrow, your parish would still have its Square account, its settled funds, and an export of its donor records.

You would lose the convenience of Stewardvine's dashboard and reconciliation exports — not your money and not your donors.

Getting started

A setup timeline your business manager can plan around.

Setup questions?

Typical time to first weekend: [to be finalized]. The sequence is short and largely in your control.

Connect your existing Square account

Stewardvine connects to the parish's own Square account with least-privilege access — only the permissions needed to record gifts and build reconciliation exports. If you do not yet have a Square account, you will create your own; it stays yours.

Add administrators with MFA

Set up your bookkeeper, pastor, or business manager with multi-factor authentication and least-privilege roles, so each person sees only what their role requires.

Brief your volunteers

The people who present the device at Mass need only a short walkthrough. It is attended giving with an iPhone — no terminals to learn, no kiosks to manage.

First weekend, then reconcile

Run your first weekend of contactless gifts, then use the export to tie the gifts to your Square deposit batch alongside the counted basket. Time to reconcile the first weekend: [to be finalized].

Works with what you already run. Stewardvine is compatible with your existing Square account and your church management software (ChMS). It works alongside your tools rather than replacing them.

Respecting the offertory

A companion to the basket — never a replacement.

The collection basket is part of the Mass, and the act of giving is part of stewardship. Stewardvine is deliberately attended and unobtrusive: a volunteer offers a simple way for those who came with only a phone to take part in the same moment. The ritual, the procession, and the dignity of the offertory stay exactly as they are.

Bilingual parishes Roadmap

English and Spanish, planned.

Many parishes worship in more than one language, and giving should meet parishioners in theirs. An English/Spanish experience is planned.
